Root Canal Treatment in Avcılar

Root canal treatment and root canal cleaning procedure

Root canal treatment is one of the treatments aimed at preserving the natural tooth in cases where the pulp tissue inside the tooth is infected or irreversibly damaged. At Sone Oral and Dental Health Clinic, root canal treatments are planned individually for each patient, taking into account the current condition of the tooth, root canal anatomy, and surrounding tissues.

In what situations is root canal treatment necessary?

Deep cavities, cracks or fractures in the tooth, previous trauma, or infections reaching the pulp tissue may require root canal treatment. Symptoms may include sensitivity to hot and cold, spontaneous pain, sensitivity during chewing, or swelling around the tooth. The exact need for treatment is determined by clinical and radiographic examination.

Our goal is to preserve natural teeth.

In appropriate cases, our priority is to preserve as much healthy tooth tissue as possible, allowing the natural tooth to continue functioning in the mouth. Therefore, before a decision is made to extract the tooth, its restorative and endodontic preservation is thoroughly evaluated.

Root Canal Retreatment

If an infection persists or recurs in a tooth that has previously undergone root canal treatment, a repeat root canal treatment may be necessary. This can be caused by inadequate previous fillings, missed canals, complex root canal anatomy, or new infections that develop over time. In a repeat root canal treatment, existing fillings are removed, and the root canals are cleaned, disinfected, and properly filled again. At Sone Oral and Dental Health Clinic, our priority is to preserve the natural tooth in the mouth by evaluating repeat root canal treatment options in appropriate cases.

How to Protect a Tooth After Root Canal Treatment?

Depending on the amount of healthy tissue remaining in the tooth after root canal treatment, different restorative options such as composite restoration, onlay/overlay, or, if necessary, crowns may be considered. The goal is not only to eliminate the infection but also to support the long-term function of the treated tooth.

Technology and Materials We Use in Root Canal Treatment

At Sone Oral and Dental Health Clinic, we utilize the latest endodontic technologies to perform root canal treatments with the utmost precision and control. We employ advanced endodontic devices for loupe magnification, electronic working length determination, mechanical shaping of root canals, and canal filling, along with digital periapical imaging systems. This allows us to control all stages of treatment, from canal anatomy assessment to shaping and filling.

In root canal treatments, we utilize current endodontic products from manufacturers such as MetaBiomed, Dentsply Sirona, and NexoBio, as well as bioceramic-based root canal filling materials, depending on the case's needs. The material and technique to be used are determined individually for each patient, based on the root canal anatomy and the clinical condition of the tooth.

We also place importance on the long-term preservation of the tooth after root canal treatment. Depending on the remaining healthy tooth tissue, composite restorations with GC restorative materials or, in suitable cases, indirect restorative options such as onlays/overlays using Ivoclar materials can be evaluated.
